A native El Pasoan, Karen Pharr attended the Southwest Institute of Merchandising and Design where she received her Associate Degree of Applied Arts. Ms. Pharr also attended the University of Texas at El Paso and has earned her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a Texas Real Estate Broker and is currently a principal partner with Hiett, Pharr & Associates, LLC. Her career in property management spans over 20 years beginning with residential management for DeWitt & Rearick, Inc. Her portfolio now includes the management and leasing of office buildings, shopping centers, Homeowner Associations and medical buildings to encompass over 190,000 square feet of commercial space and over 700 residential units.
Ms. Pharr has served her profession and the community in many capacities throughout the years including; President of the El Paso Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Regional Vice President of Region 7 for IREM National, Chair and member of the Ethical Inquiry Board for IREM National, member of the El Paso City Accessibility Advisory Committee, President of the Junior Woman’s Club of El Paso, member of the Downtown Lions Club, member of the El Paso Apartment Association, member of the Greater El Paso CCIM Chapter. As a TREC approved instructor she has taught property management courses for the Academy of Real Estate. Currently she serves as the group leader of Shared Interest Developments-H.O.A’s as well as a member of the JPM, Ehtics & Discipline and Education committees for IREM National and sits on the IREM El Paso Chapter Board of Directors.
